Step 1: Preparation and Measuring

Step 2: Building the Cabinet

When the cabinet is all but completed you can then slide it firmly into the home it will stay in for the rest of its existence. You have to decide between the gas and electric options and ensure that you have all the utility connections you will need. Use corner brackets to reinforce joints in the assembly and make sure everything is square and level using the appropriate tools. Screws will make the joints stronger than nails, be sure you use good wood screws for your building. On top of accommodating the cook top you have to be sure to give enough space in the cabinet for the downdraft vent and the backsplash. Cut the holes for gas and electric lines in the back of the cabinet too. Paint or stain your cabinet to finish.
