Monochromatic Material Style

Monochromatic Material Style

Designing a functional and stylish kitchen island can make a big impact in the kitchen, often a room that can feel small. In this case, using the same monochromatic color palette and sustainable wood materials for the island that spans the kitchen spaces will make the space feel bigger. The sustainable wood is used on the base of the islands and the cabinets, allowing the eye to keep moving throughout. Photo courtesy of Jerry Bussanmas

The Cook’s Kitchen Island

By Bathroom Designer

In this pretty space, the kitchen island acts as the true hub, providing balance and harmony. With design styles mixing from industrial and modern to classic touches, the kitchen and the island represent a functional, well-designed space. The large island with an open frame works in this space, matching the design style of the counters and farmhouse sink. With a metal rack shelf below and the cement countertops above, the island houses the range as well. This kitchen is very much a space any cook would love. Photo courtesy of Place Architects. Modern Kitchen Islands

The contemporary kitchen design often exudes a sleek and streamlined feel, but the typical style is anything but simple. Modern kitchens often include stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, exposed brick walls and furniture with angular edges.

Kitchen Island with Stools ideas

If extra seating is your goal when it comes to adding an island to your kitchen, then it is important to know how to choose the right stools for your space.

Consider these questions: How many seats are you seeking? How high is the bar? What type of seats would fit your kitchen style? Once you have determined the design of your kitchen island, you can then begin planning for a bar space and the stools that will most appropriately fit.

A chimney-style island ventilation hood adds a contemporary touch to this traditional white kitchen. The “window” behind the primary sink is actually a pass-through into the adjoining room.

Located next to the range, the working end of this kitchen island is capped with a thick wooden counter made of aged walnut and a small prep sink. Three Hubbardton Forge pendants illuminate the seating portion of the island, which features a light finish that contrasts the dark perimeter cabinetry.

Old World Kitchens plans

To create a relaxing and inviting kitchen for entertaining friends, the homeowner wanted a muted color palette and “soft” materials. The large island seats four comfortably and also stores seldom-used holiday dishware and serving pieces. Note the seamless single slab of granite serving as the island counter.

Modern Beige Kitchen Design With Red Walls

By KBC Kitchen & Bathroom

A kitchen is often a very important space to cook together with your family, to gather to have a meal, and that’s why this place should be very cozy, stylish and functional. This kitchen by Deulonder Arquitectura Domèstica was organized so that everything is at hand, it’s just 17 square meters. The kitchen island is just 130 x 78 cm but it’s enough to cook comfortably. I love the colors – beige was used to widen the space but there are also bright red walls to make it more cheerful – and the green plants are used for the same purpose. The kitchen turned to be functional, small but very stylish. contemporary kitchen design, gorgeous kitchen design, kitchen decorating, kitchen design, minimalist kitchen design, modern kitchen design ideas, stylish kitchen design
