A mirror is an essential part of any bathroom. Without it, people would have a very difficult time getting ready for their day. However, some bathrooms are small and don’t allow much room for large mirrors. A great way to overcome this particular challenge is to install mirrored bathroom cabinets.
Bathroom cabinets that have mirrored doors are a very useful addition to any bathroom. Not only do they provide much-needed storage space for small, cluttered bathrooms but they also provide that mirror that’s crucial to the morning routine. Often called “medicine cabinets,” these handy little storage units provide a place for everyone’s essential personal items. Some even have adjustable shelving to make room for various sized bottles and personal hygiene products.
The mirrored doors are useful since they alleviate the need to find space for traditional mirrors. Just open them up, grab what you need, and close the doors to finish preparing for the day ahead. It’s a no muss, no fuss solution for bathroom organization. You’ll wonder how you ever lived without it.
Mirrors are often used to make small rooms appear more open and spacious. In much the same way, mirrored bathroom cabinets can help to make small bathrooms look and feel larger. They’re easy to clean and require very little maintenance so they make a great addition to any bathroom. Many home improvement stores sell these cabinets in many shapes and sizes, so finding one that’s affordable is a snap.
Make sure to choose one that matches your current bathroom decor. Shop around online and visit local retailers to get a good idea of what’s available. Installation is easy and can be done in a short amount of time. It won’t be long before you’re able to enjoy the beautiful new addition to your bathroom!

Between the 63 bottles of shampoo and conditioner to the extra clean towels on the top of the toilet, you have finally come to the realization that you need more storage space in the bathroom. Adding shelving is an option but the bathroom ends up looking more like a pharmacy than a room in your home. Installing bathroom cabinets is one way to add that storage space while sprucing up the bathroom at the same time.
First thing that needs to be done is choosing a cabinet that fits the free wall space you have in the bathroom. Take careful measurements of that space, insuring there is room on both sides once the cabinet is mounted. Looking for one that will serve your needs and not overwhelm the room is a good idea.
There are many types of surface mount cabinets available, from standard hinged doors to sliding style ones. For those bathrooms with limited space, the sliding doors are perfect as you do not need to allow room for door swing when mounting them. If you have the room, the swinging doors style will work just as well.
In regards to the actual mounting of the cabinets, you will need some basic tools to accomplish this. Normally a power drill or battery screw gun will do the trick along with a level, stud finder and a pencil. Most cabinets come with mounting instructions and hardware and are relatively easy to install.
Using the stud finder, locate the wall studs in the area you wish to mount the cabinets and mark them with the pencil. The cabinet may come with a paper template which will show you the proper mounting locations for the hardware, use this rather that guesstimating where it should go. Once the hardware is mounted on the wall and the cabinet hung, make sure to secure the lower portion of the cabinet to the wall with the screws provided.

Henry and Nick have been renovating their massive three-story Victorian house since moving in four years ago. They started at the bottom and worked their way up, but were baffled when they got to the final room: an awkwardly-shaped master bathroom that was anything but functional cabinetry.
The third-floor space was cramped and outdated, and the guys were desperate to turn it into a modern-day “gentleman’s club.” Recently, Nick was diagnosed with diabetes and told to commence an exercise regimen. It was then the project took on greater urgency and I was called in to help. For now they not only wanted a new bathroom, they needed a workout area to help Nick maintain a healthy lifestyle. Solid Wood Cabinet
As it stood, the bathroom room was chopped up into three separate spaces: a toilet/tub/shower space, a storage closet and a sunroom. So the first order of the day was to gut the maze of small rooms, pull out all of the old fixtures and start from scratch. Once this was accomplished, I was left with a huge, open space which I painted in a crisp, neutral shade. I then put down clean white tiles overtop of radiant heating pads on the floor.
Next came the task of installing new state-of-the-art bathroom fixtures. I put in a gorgeous soaker tub — complete with a waterproof LCD television and remote control — and tiled the adjacent in a beautiful white and dark taupe mosaic tile. For a little something extra, I flanked the tub with gorgeous dark wood bookcases. I also installed a new toilet and a barrier-free shower stall with multiple body sprays, an overhead rain shower and a handheld showerhead wardrobes.
On the wall across from the shower, I put up a chic double vanity comprised of dark wood cabinetry topped with a white quartz countertop. I then put up two very tall mirrors and two modern polished stainless steel basins with funky wall-mounted spout faucets. Stainless Steel Kitchen Sink
However, this bathroom was not just about relaxation. It needed a workout component to help get Nick moving. To that end, I put in a low-impact elliptical trainer with a heart monitoring system. The machine, which has a good view of the television, sits beside new sliding glass doors with white linen curtains that will eventually lead out to a new deck.
I also created a dressing room adjacent to the bathroom that would make any fashionista giddy. For the ultimate in organization, I put in a stunning dark wood storage system complete with shelves, drawers, clothes racks, a built-in ironing board and a washer and dryer. Bathroom Vanity
To lighten up the room, I put up a chrome-disc chandelier over the tub and four sconces over the vanity. Then it was time for a few final finishes —Stainless Steel Kitchen Sink a heated towel rack, some fluffy robes and some spa-like amenities — and the space was complete.
By using masculine finishes, modern fixtures and space-saving techniques, this bathroom got a men’s club-inspired makeover that blends serenity with functionality. It’s a bathroom and workout space in which any guy would be proud to flex his muscles. China kitchen cabinets

Every person that has a small bathroom is interested in ways of making their bathroom appear larger. Remodeling the bathroom is not always an option and in many cases, remodeling the bathroom would be very expensive. There are a number of ways that a person can use to make their small bathroom seem larger without having to undertake any heavy construction.

1. Soft Color for Walls
One of the easiest ways that a person can alter their small bathroom design to make it appear larger is to choose light soft colors for the décor of the bathroom.
2. Accent with Color
Bright, bold colors can be used in small bathrooms, assuming you reserve them for accents only. Going overboard with bold or dark colorstend to make the bathroom appear tighter and more intimate.
3. Visual Accents
If your bathroom has wallpaper, avoid using large prints or busy pattern. Instead, choose very subtle wallpaper patterns. Better yet, keep one wall free from any pattern at all. Consider making the largest wall in the small bathroom into a mural of an open space.
4. Light Tones of Bathroom Flooring
Just like light colors on the walls, light colors on the flooring of the small bathroom will help make the bathroom appear roomier and more open. The most popular colors for a light bathroom floor are tans, light grays, and light blues. By incorporating these colors into the flooring of your small bathroom design, you will have the basis for a light colored decorating scheme that will make your bathroom appear more open.
5. Pedestal Sink
Another small bathroom design that can be used to make a bathroom appear larger is to replace a large vanity or countertop with a slimmer, pedestal sink. A pedestal sink can be found in many different styles, colors, and materials, allowing them to be matched to any décor. By placing a pedestal sink in the small bathroom, you can open up the bathroom space by another ten percent.
6. Classic Fixtures
When selecting fixtures for your bathroom, keep in mind they are going into a small space. Choose simple designs made from smooth surfaces, such as ceramic and marble, and opt for light, neutral tones.
7. Additional Lighting Fixtures
Additional lighting in a small bathroom can make a world of difference in the way the space in the bathroom is perceived. Consider adding additional light fixtures or using higher wattage bulbs, as appropriate. By making the bathroom brighter and more inviting, it seems that the space has opened up and the walls are farther apart.
8. Increase Natural Light
There are a variety of ways that additional lighting can be added to the small bathroom without taking up more space than is already used, including installing a new window, or even putting in a skylight.
9. Limit Items in Bathroom
Many people choose to open up the amount of space available in their small bathroom by greatly reducing the amount of items that they place into the bathroom. Items such as storage shelves, hampers, and decorative items all take up valuable space in a small bathroom and the bathroom will appear much larger if these items are removed and the things that they hold are stored somewhere else.
10. Consider Storage Outside the Bathroom
Some people choose to place a small storage cabinet in their hallway near the bathroom as a place to put all of the things that they would normally keep in their bathrooms. It’s also a good idea to consider putting laundry hampers in the bedrooms instead of in the bathroom. Extra supplies and paper products can even be stored in the pantry.
11. Adding Mirrors
Adding additional mirrors to the bathroom will also help the bathroom appear bigger than it really is. Placing additional mirrors in the bathroom will help to capture all of the available light and reflect it back into the room to make it brighter. Adding extra mirrors to the room will also add depth to the room, as the mirrors reflect each other and make the walls appear farther away.
12. De-Clutter
Other ways you can use to make a small bathroom design appear larger include removing clutter and extra items. Instead of storing all of your beauty items on the counter, place them in a cabinet or in the medicine chest when not in use. The more items are visible in a small bathroom, the more cramped the space will look and feel.
Using these subtle design changes to modify the look of your small bathroom is easy, inexpensive, and most of these design changes can be completed in a few hours. By changing your small bathroom design, you can make your small bathroom appear larger within the space of a day.
